What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy consists of a variety of primarily hands-on techniques applied to soft tissue, such as muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction. Massage therapy has therapeutic effects on the nervous, circulatory, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems, optimizing health and well-being. As a complementary therapy to other therapies, it works to remove soft tissue 'barriers' to make physiotherapy or chiropractic treatment more effective.
Your massage therapist will go over your health history with you during the initial assessment, perform orthopedic tests if necessary, and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. It may include recommendations for complimentary treatments by our team of professionals, to best address your symptoms and help you reach optimal balance within a realistic period of time.
